Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Cookies
- If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience and last for one year.
- Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
- Logging in sets cookies to save your login info and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
- Editing or publishing an article saves an additional cookie in your browser, which contains no personal data and expires after one day.
